"Alltag, was ist das nun?" - Spiegel article

As time flies, events take place.
Term1 came to an end,
I went home,
I came back.
As humans, it is normal to adapt to one's new surroundings,
so am I,
here at EMIS.

If you want to read more about the past months and the constant question of what my everyday life is, read the following article:
German Spiegel Article "Alltag, was ist das nun?"
Its English translation can be found by clicking on the link below:

Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year!

The Pre - IB students prepared a presentation at the weekly assembly about the Chinese New Year. They put a lot of work into it, and tried to teach us about every aspect, such as clothing, food, decoration, music, dancing, singing and much more.

Well done!
I am looking forward to learn a more in Chinese Club every Tuesday after school.
May this adventure begin!

EMIS Science Week

Last week EMIS hosted its first Science Week. It started off by a lecture given by Prof. Haick, and continued with multiple activities, such as a dry ice one or discovering the magic of solar panels. Additionally, every biology and ESS (Environmental Systems and Societies) students worked on one of the posters shown in the picture below, which summarize experiments done previously. Chemistry students did a special research project about a different materials, which were then presented to students from the Hakfar Hayarok and EMIS. Together with students from Brazil and Italy, I was preparing a Silicon Carbide poster and hosted a BlogEMIS TV show "Journalism Meets Science".
To finish the week off, we had the pleasure to listen to Nobel Prize laureate Ada Yonath at the Weizmann Institute talking about her experiences in the experimental world.

Flags

Flags are everywhere, in rooms, on the way to school and even on the way to the dining hall. They have been put up in October and decorat our campus eversince.

These two great flags - Canada and Austria - are placed right next two each other
and I can even see them from the window right next to my bed.
That is such a coincidence!

These are some of the flags that we pass multiple times a day on the way
between our dorms and the school.
