Last week EMIS hosted its first Science Week. It started off by a lecture given by Prof. Haick, and continued with multiple activities, such as a dry ice one or discovering the magic of solar panels. Additionally, every biology and ESS (Environmental Systems and Societies) students worked on one of the posters shown in the picture below, which summarize experiments done previously. Chemistry students did a special research project about a different materials, which were then presented to students from the Hakfar Hayarok and EMIS. Together with students from Brazil and Italy, I was preparing a Silicon Carbide poster and hosted a BlogEMIS TV show "Journalism Meets Science".
To finish the week off, we had the pleasure to listen to Nobel Prize laureate Ada Yonath at the Weizmann Institute talking about her experiences in the experimental world.
