Exchange year - Canada

My exchange year in Montréal, Québec, Canada:

During the 2012/13 school year I spent eleven months abroad in Montréal, Québec, Canada to learn about another culture, improve my English and French skills, grow as a person and have an amazing adventure. Did I have one? YES, ABSOLUTELY!
I went to a local high school, more information is in the upcoming lines, and lived together with amazing people.

My asssociation was DFSR- Dr. Frank Sprachen & Reisen.
Dr. Frank SprachreisenIt is a german youth exchange association that believes in contributing to international understanding by encouraging integration into the local community.
I chose DFSR because I was very interested in their bilingual program. I spent my 10 months abroad in a bilingual host family (French & English) and went to an Englisch school, where I also had classes in French. This was the main reason why we decided to organise my stay with DFSR. I did not find any other association that offered this program.

Now that I am back in Austria, I am a member of the DFSR-Austria team and support them whenever I am needed!

The partner association from DFSR was SLI-Séjours linguistiques internationaux Québec which aims to foster goodwill and international understanding through positive homestay experiences.

In Montréal I went to LMAC-Laurier Mac Donald High School, an IB World school, which is part of the EMSB-English Montreal School Board. The school's mission is to that of an inclusive community committed to the achievement of student excellence within a dynamic global landscape.

Sounds like a great experience. I loved Quebec when I visited in high school with my French Club. I hope you enjoyed your Canadian experience. I can't wait to read more.
